This 14-day soda firing workshop provides focused, hands-on instruction covering the full ceramic process, from forming & glazing to kiln loading & soda firing. Participants will work closely with Cody Breese Thomas to develop both functional & sculptural work while gaining a clear, practical understanding of soda kiln operation & firing strategies.
The workshop emphasizes material choice, surface treatment, form alterations, kiln dynamics, & workflow in a high-fire atmospheric setting. Participants will have daily access to studios and equipment to support sustained making throughout the session.
